Prabha Mahila Mahavidyalya, Maharajganj was established by Pt.
Bhupendra Nath Mishra (a leading Advocate) S/O Late
Smt. Swarna Prabha Devi and Late Sri. Yaduvansh Prasad
Mishra, Village-Kaithvallia Sarvajeet, Tehsil-Farenda, District-Maharajganj
and Smt. Rajat Lata Mishra W/O Sri. Bhupendra Nath
Mishra on 25/03/1999, Chaitra Ramnavami, Vikram era 2056.
Smt. Swarna Prabha
Devi was born in a fendal family and got married to a fendal family. The orthodox
mindset of the family deprived her of education. Through her keenness, she indulged
to read and write Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu. The society would have benefited had
she got a fair chance to education. This was the underlying commitment towards
laying the foundation of this Mahavidalaya.
At present two departments Arts
and B.Ed. are functioning in the college. Under the Arts department, eight subjects
Hindi, Sanskrit, Home Science, Education, Ancient History, Sociology, Political
science, Philosophy are operational since 1999 and has been approved by the state
administration since 01.07.2004.
